Environmental Initiatives

As part of an ongoing emphasis on making our planet a better place, Mossberg & Company recently earned certifications from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

To earn these certifications, Mossberg enhanced its quality procedures to ensure that production on paper purchased from certified suppliers meets the stringent Chain of Custody standards developed by the paper industry. All paper bearing the FSC, SFI or PEFC logos has been properly handled from the time it leaves the certified forest to the time it’s delivered to the end user. Only certified companies -- like Mossberg -- can claim that the Chain of Custody is intact.
 
Other environmental initiatives at Mossberg include:

• The systematic recycling of all extra paper used during production
• An advanced solvent recovery system that has led to a 70% reduction in solvents used by our presses
• An aggressive employee-driven recycling program that greatly reduces our amount of landfill-bound waste
• Introduction of eco-friendly light bulbs throughout our plants
• Community service projects that help others to become more environmentally conscious
