We’re connected to our community. And the environment at large.
When you live and work in a place as long as we have, you’re connected. Our deep community ties are certainly those of business, but also of people, families, and the commitments we all find vital. This includes a commitment to act in smarter ways on behalf of the planet.
Our social involvement. ( expand )
At Mossberg, the model for good community citizenship is set from the top. Our company leaders and board members sit on the boards of various charitable causes and other types of organizations. Through the Mossberg Charitable Giving Board, we also contribute funds to local non-profits, including the Boy Scouts of America, the Boys and Girls Clubs, the Fischoff National Chamber Music Association, Independent Colleges of Indiana Foundation, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, and WNIT Public Television.
Sustainable actions. ( expand )
To be in business for over 80 years, it takes resourceful thinking. Today, we are thinking and acting in ways to minimize the impact our production processes have on the environment.
Paper
- Mossberg has received certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), and the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).
- We systematically recycle all extra paper left over from production.
Chemicals
- We developed a process through which 75% of our pressroom solvents can be reused on a daily basis.
- We work with our suppliers to utilize the most environmentally friendly inks and solvents available.
Facilities
- We use energy-saving forms of lighting throughout our facilities.
- Aggressive, employee-driven recycling greatly reduces the amount of waste that goes to landfills from our offices and production areas.
Consulting
- Mossberg can provide ideas and answers on papers, inks, and processes that help your organization or project achieve the desired green goals—while keeping the quality where you want it.
